Shadow and Glow

This tutorial will show you how to add shadow or glow to text on Paint Shop Pro.

1. Open a new image. Fill the background with whatever color you want. Make a new vector layer and take the text tool. Type in what you want it to say. Here's mine so far:

2. Go to Layers >> Duplicate to duplicate your text.

3. Go to Adjust >> Blur >> Gaussian Blur. It may tell you that you have to convert the layer to a raster layer. Just click ok. I personally like to set the radius to 2.00, but you can set it to whatever you want.

4. If you have a background color other than white, you can go to Adjust >> Hue and Saturation >> Hue/Saturation/Lightness. Set the lightness to 100 to give it a more "glowy" effect.

5. Experiment with different blurs and different colors to see what kind of effects you can create. You can also do this with shapes and other things. I just kept mine simple. Here's how it turned out:
