Installing Brushes

Don't know how to install brushes on to Paint Shop Pro? All of my brushes were made on PSP X, so they may not be able to be automatically downloaded onto lower or higher versions. That's why I'll explain how to use image packs also.

1. Download the brushes you want into the brushes folder. It should be under My PSP Files >> Brushes.

2. Double click the compressed folder to the brushes.

3. Select all of the files in the folder (hold down Ctrl and click each one), copy them, then paste them into the brushes folder.

4. This should install them into PSP. If you have the program running while installing them and they don't show, just close the program and restart it. If they still don't show, the next part of the tutorial will show you how to use the image packs.

Using Image Packs

1. Click on the link to the image pack and copy and paste the image onto Paint Shop Pro.
2. Take the Freehand Selection tool and select around one of the brushes. I like to use point-to-point as my selection type because it's the most acurate without accidentally selection part of another brush.

3. Copy the the selection and paste it as it's own image.

4. Go to File >> Export >> Custom Brush. Name it whatever you wish, and don't worry about filling out the other information if you don't want to.

5. Click the box that says 'Save Variance', press OK, and there you have it! You should be able to use the brush as you want now.
