Applying a Div

This is a tutorial on how to apply a div onto your myspace. If you have questions about a certain part, please ask. NOTE: Do not attempt unless you have HTML experience.

1. Log into your myspace. Click Edit Profile in the menu next to your photo.

2. Copy the code into your About Me section. Do not save or preview your profile yet.

3. Scroll down until you find a section section that looks like a bunch of links with X's in them. Replace the XXXXX's with your ID number. If you already saved your page, these X's will be replaced by myspace links. Do not save anything until you replace the X's. Step 5 will show you how to find your ID.

5. On your myspace home page, scroll down to where your friends are. Click the link that says View all of my friends. Look up at the address bar and search for the section of the address that looks like this:

The circled part is your ID. Your numbers will be different from the ones shown. Copy that and replace all the XXXXXX in the link section with it.

6. Now it's time to fill in your info. Look for a large block of the word BLAH being repeated. Erase the BLAH's only and replace them with whatever you want. Most people like to put information about themselves in that section.

7. There may be a second section of BLAHs or another section for information depending on what div you have. If you have one that has a section for your Name, Age, Location, etc., just fill in your information like you did in Step 6.

9. If there's a part of your layout that asks for your friends' URL and their pictures [my pokemon one], here's how you change that.

10. Look for a part that says FRIENDSURL. Go to your friend's myspace, copy the link in the address bar, and paste it where your code says FRIENDSURL.

11. To put their picture in, save a picture of them onto your computer and upload it onto a host site like tinypic.com or imageshack.com.
12. Take the URL to the image you uploaded and replace the link directly after the url to your friends myspace with it.

13. This is a little more complicated so don't attempt it if you don't know basic HTML.

14. Click Save all changes and you're done!
